Do you have to wear a red dress? Is drag required?
Red of some form is required on all attendees. We do however encourage everyone, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, to throw on a red dress and kick up their heels to fight HIV/AIDS. That could mean a kilt or toga.

No. Drag is not required. Just come as yourself and have fun! View photos on flickr or the media page to get an idea of ways you can put your ‘best red’ forward.

What is the Red Dress Party?
The Red Dress Party is a fun and innovative event designed to bring visibility to the HIV/AIDS movement while raising funds for organizations that provide vital community services.

Where is the 2012 Chicago Red Dress Party being held?
It is being held at the Joffrey Ballet Studios at 10 East Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60601

Do you have to be 21 to attend?
Unfortunately our insurance agent requires we say yes. Those pesky legal issues!

Is the venue ADA accessible?
Yes. Elevators access all floors in the building.

Where can I buy a red dress in Chicago?
You can buy a red dress at many different locations. Check out Beatnix on Halsted or Brown Elephant. This list is meant to be a starting point only.

Who is the producing organization?
Equality Project (EQPR) and the Board of Directors produce the Chicago Red Dress Party. EQPR was founded in 2008 harness the power of event production to create social consciousness and end prejudice and discrimination.

Who is the beneficiary of the 2012 Red Dress Party?
This years funds will establish a grant giving fund in which organizations like TPAN, AIDS Foundation of Chicago, and/or Chicago house can apply for funding. This funds will be restricted to programs for HIV+ individuals and research.

Will money raised from the Chicago Red Dress Party stay in Chicago?
Yes. All the organizations eligible to receive funds must impact Chicago area residents.

What is the fiscal oversight for the Chicago Red Dress? How can we ensure our hard earned money is going to people living with HIV/AIDS?
We have taken various steps to ensure that the money raised from the Chicago Red Dress Party goes directly to programs serving those affected by HIV/AIDS. They are are follows: 1. All funds received are deposited directly into a reserve account established by Equality Project. 2. Expenditures are then approved by the President and Treasure of Equality Project. 3. Equality Project publishes an annual year end report to establish complete transparency with the financial transactions for the organization.

Is there parking?
There are various parking garages close to the venue. However, we strongly encourage everyone to take a taxi or the CTA. For CTA bus and train information, visit www.transitchicago.com. Taxi’s will be on hand starting at 11:00a to the conclusion of the event.

Will food be served?
There will be passed premium hors d’oeuvres served in the VIP lounge. Also a buffet and dessert will be offered for all attendees.

When do I receive my event tickets?
In an effort to go green we will not be requiring tickets for entrance. Our staff will be on hand to electronically admit all attendees. An ID is required for entrance.

What is the return/cancellation policy?
Unfortunately we are unable to refund tickets. However, if the event is sold out we may be able to work with you to resell your ticket.

If tickets sold out will there be a wait list?
If tickets sold out we will offer a wait list. If space opens you will be notified. Once notified you’ll have one day to purchase your tickets.
